Security Officer FT Overnights Tinton Falls, NJ
About The Position
The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for the client by monitoring the premises and patrolling inside and outside the site. The role preserves order and enforces site regulations and directives for personnel, visitors, and the surrounding area. Security Officers also provide customer service and information to client employees and guests. The position is based in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and is scheduled Saturday through Tuesday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The listed pay rate is $18.00–$18.50 per hour. No prior experience is necessary; training is provided. Applicants with retail, food service, hospitality, security, or receptionist experience may be a good fit.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Standard computer and technology skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to conduct patrols throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout the shift.
- Active New Jersey SORA license or ability to obtain one.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Open availability is required.
- Punctuality and reliability; there is no relief coverage, so timeliness is essential.
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain alert in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous security experience is highly preferred.
- Previous security or receptionist experience is preferred.
- SORA certification, or willingness to obtain it, is a plus.
- Retail, food service, or hospitality industry background is considered a good fit.
Responsibilities
- Resolve conflicts and de-escalate situations.
- Secure entrances and patrol inside and outside the client’s premises.
- Interact frequently with client employees and guests.
- Identify and report safety issues or hazardous conditions.
- Report suspicious activity clearly and promptly.
- Provide detailed written witness reports.
- Monitor the premises and help preserve order by enforcing site regulations and directives.
- Provide customer service and information to client employees and customers.
