About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Incident Response Patrol for an assigned government-supported shelter location in New York, NY. The position offers a fixed weekly anchor schedule, with a six-month commitment to the assigned site and shifts. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, potentially increasing their hours up to 40 per week.

The role provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities. Officers conduct unarmed patrols, monitor access and visitor activity, respond to incidents, and complete required documentation. The listed pay rate is $18.87 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government-supported shelter location.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, floors, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
