About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to support a government services location in New York, NY. The role involves safeguarding clients, staff, residents, and visitors by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, following site procedures, and responding professionally to concerns and incidents. The position is scheduled Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and pays $18.87 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, residents, visitors, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and by carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, entrances, common spaces, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures while maintaining a professional presence at a government service location.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency personnel.
