About The Position

As a Security Guard Licensed Patrol Operations in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government services location. In this unarmed patrol role, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. You will support a respectful and professional environment for individuals accessing homeless services while maintaining appropriate boundaries and communicating with site personnel and emergency responders as needed.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following post orders and escalation procedures.
Monitor access points and visitor activity; report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations; and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
Support a respectful and professional environment for individuals accessing homeless services while maintaining appropriate boundaries and communicating with site personnel and emergency responders as needed.
