About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a retail shopping center in Newport Beach, California. The officer will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and employees. A valid driver’s license is required for this driving position.

The position is listed as a swing shift, with a schedule of Wednesday through Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The pay rate is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time.
• CPR certification.
• Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and employees by carrying out security procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, storefronts, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Monitor activity and report suspicious conditions, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established procedures.
• Help maintain an orderly environment by providing directions, assisting with access-related questions, and documenting daily activities and incidents.
