About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Loss Prevention Security Officer at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Canton, Mississippi. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide customer service to visitors and employees. The role involves communicating and observing to report concerns and assist visitors and employees. The posted pay rate is $17.20 per hour. The schedule is Thursday and Saturday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, building perimeters, parking facilities, loading docks, and other assigned areas to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate locations.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established emergency response protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
