Seattle Children’s is hiring security officers at multiple levels and for several schedules. Security officers respond to safety concerns, security incidents, and service requests at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Children’s. They help deter, detect, prevent, respond to, and document situations that may risk the safety or well-being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members, or property, using appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures, and non-violent crisis intervention methods. The Crisis Intervention Specialist works under the direction of the Security leadership team and with guidance from PBMU nursing leadership. This specialist is the primary responder for safety concerns in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (PBMU), both individually and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Openings include hands-on roles at Magnuson, the main campus, regional clinics, and the Psychiatric Behavioral Medicine unit, with schedules ranging from 48 to 80 hours per two-week pay period. Other openings do not require hands-on duties and include weekday, overnight, and Othello/Jackson assignments. Some locations or roles require reliable transportation. Education, experience, and credentials vary by security role level. Level I requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Level II requires an associate degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or a combination of three years of related experience in Security Services or a related field. Required certifications and training are completed within specified periods after hire, depending on role and location. The compensation range is $22.18–$40.75 per hour. Seattle Children’s offers medical, dental, and vision plans, a 403(b), life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and other benefits. Offers depend on factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise; compensation may differ for positions outside Seattle.
