As a Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol in Cerritos, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, complete a driving post, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support tenants, guests, and staff with strong customer service and clear communication while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and perimeter access points, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns, and report observations through the proper channels.
  • Support property staff and store personnel with access control, directions, lost and found inquiries, and other customer service needs while maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.
