About The Position

As a Security Officer - Shopping Center in Salem, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine driving and foot patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support shoppers, tenants, and staff with strong communication and customer service while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, putting people first through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and retail staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with mall management, tenants, and/or local responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and perimeter access points.
Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior.
Document observations, incidents, and security-related concerns in written reports and report unusual conditions, maintenance issues, and/or hazards to the appropriate personnel.
