About The Position

As an unarmed Security Officer Patrol in Asheville, North Carolina, you will serve and safeguard clients at financial institution and education locations. You will maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, conduct routine patrols, communicate professionally with staff, students, visitors, and customers, and provide exceptional customer service. This is a part-time position with a schedule that may include Monday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The stated pay rate is $18.03 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, employees, and customers while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations at educational and financial-services facilities.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site policies, and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established escalation and notification procedures.
Accurately document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in required reports and communicate pertinent information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
