About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for patrol and asset protection at an assigned retail site in Albany, New York. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift for a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow the employee to build up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The pay rate is $21.64 per hour. The listed schedule is Friday, 5:00 AM–3:00 PM.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities. Duties include unarmed patrols of retail and surrounding areas, monitoring and reporting security concerns, responding professionally to incidents, and assisting with access control and coordination with store management or emergency responders.

Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Applicable licensing requirements may need to be met before employment.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A Guard Card or security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to store customers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and other security concerns, and report observations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Assist with access control and visitor interactions.
• Coordinate with store management and emergency responders when needed.
