About The Position

Part of the Patrol Division, the Security Officer II helps maintain a secure environment by patrolling assigned areas, monitoring for suspicious activities, enforcing rules and regulations, and responding to calls for service and emergencies. The role typically includes foot and vehicle patrols to maintain visibility and deter security threats. The officer handles more complex security challenges, serves as a lead during incidents, and reports and documents occurrences that may pose a risk to safety or security.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Complete and maintain all competencies and training required for the role.
• FEMA IS-100.C certification.
• FEMA IS-906 certification.
• FEMA IS-907 certification.
• FEMA IS-200.C certification.
• Current valid driver's license.
• BLS certification.
• Obtain IAHSS Basic Level Certification (CHSO) within 6 months of hire or placement.
• Obtain IAHSS Advanced Level Certification (CAHSO) within 12 months of hire or placement.
• Obtain IAHSS Supervisor Level Certification (CHSS) within 18 months of hire or placement.
• Accountability for maintaining workplace safety.
• Analytical, collaborative, customer service, delegation, communication, interpersonal, reasoning, leadership, listening, organizational, problem-solving, and service-orientation skills.
• Computer skills, including computer use and navigation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Multi-line telephone operational skills.
• Attention to detail, multitasking, strategic thinking, and ability to work as a strong team player.
