About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer Entry Screening in Plattsburgh, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients at a transportation facility. You will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide customer service and communication to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers. Your visible presence will help deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers while following site-specific access control procedures and security policies.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
Respond calmly to unauthorized access attempts, incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and follow emergency response procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, parking areas, building perimeters, and other designated locations.
Observe and report security-related concerns, unusual activity, and facility conditions in accordance with site procedures.
