About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer Entry Screening in Oakland, California, you will help safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. You will screen personnel, visitors, and materials; monitor access points; and report security-related concerns. The role requires outstanding customer service, a professional presence, and clear communication. The listed schedule is Friday 2:45 PM–11:15 PM and Saturday 10:45 PM–7:15 AM. Pay is $21.95 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience is required.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Screen personnel, visitors, packages, shipments, and/or vehicles according to site requirements and access-control procedures.
Monitor access points and verify credentials, documentation, and authorization before permitting entry to controlled areas.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, escalating concerns according to site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution location, loading areas, and perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns.
