About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Authorization in Latham, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as healthcare. In a healthcare location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and assist visitors, patients, and staff with professionalism and care. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly, and report security-related concerns while supporting a welcoming environment. The position is full-time, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at a rate of $23.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
Control facility access by verifying identification, reviewing visitor credentials, issuing temporary access credentials, and maintaining visitor access records according to site-specific procedures.
Monitor entry and exit points, access-control systems, alarms, and cameras; report unusual activity, access concerns, and equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow established healthcare location protocols, and contact emergency services or site contacts when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
