About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Security Screener for an assigned logistics facility in Somerset, New Jersey. The position provides a designated weekly anchor shift that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours can vary based on shifts claimed, with the opportunity to build toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The listed pay rate is $18.00 per hour. The scheduled shift is Thursday, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees while following site-specific security procedures and policies at a logistics facility.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or vehicles according to established access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor records, and report unusual activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following site-specific emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading or receiving locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
