About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screener in Chester, Virginia. The role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated site and weekly anchor shift require a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may be available at multiple sites, and hours can vary from part-time to as many as 40 per week, with the option to scale back. The position is intended for people seeking part-time work, supplemental income, hands-on experience, or a path toward a full-time security career.

The scheduled shift is Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour. The role screens people and items entering designated technology facility areas, verifies access, provides customer service, maintains entry records, responds to incidents, and patrols assigned areas.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific security procedures, access-screening protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, personal belongings, packages, and deliveries entering designated technology facility areas according to established site procedures.
• Verify identification, access credentials, and visitor authorization; direct guests to appropriate check-in locations and maintain accurate entry records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, escalating concerns according to site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security concerns.
