About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Personnel Screener in Tavares, Florida, at $19.00 per hour. The role provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment. In addition to the fixed shift, the employee may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust hours as needed. The scheduled shift listed is Monday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Security Officer provides customer service at a government location while conducting site-specific screening and security procedures. Duties include screening people and belongings, verifying identification, monitoring access points, maintaining records, responding to incidents, and patrolling assigned areas.

Requirements

• Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen individuals and their belongings using designated screening equipment and procedures, referring prohibited or questionable items to appropriate personnel.
• Verify identification, monitor access points, and maintain accurate visitor and screening-related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter, reporting unusual activity, hazards, and security-related concerns.
