Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS/DHS COLA requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening entry requests, and following security-related policies for a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify identification and credentials, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Communicate with site contacts, staff, and/or local authorities regarding access issues, policy questions, and security-related concerns that arise during the shift.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entry points, lobbies, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and report maintenance, lighting, and/or security-related issues.
