About The Position

As a Security Officer Communications Specialist in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Officer in a dynamic tech and telecom location, you will monitor communications, track security-related activity, coordinate responses, and support site operations with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor radios, phones, alarms, cameras, and/or other communication systems to receive calls for service, prioritize incidents, and dispatch security-related personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Document incidents, service requests, and unusual activity in dispatch logs and/or electronic reporting systems, helping to support accurate communication and follow-up.
  • Coordinate with site contacts, first responders, and/or Allied Universal personnel regarding alarms, medical calls, facility issues, and other security-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
