About The Position

As a Security Officer Badge Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will help manage entry points, monitor activity, conduct routine patrols, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Possess customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government location.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, maintain visitor and entry logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and reporting procedures.
  • Communicate with site personnel, visitors, and/or public agency representatives regarding access requirements, directions, and security-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing conditions and reporting unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
