About The Position

As a Security Officer Badge Desk Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS and/or DHS COLA requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, screening entry and exit activity, and supporting security-related policies for a government location.
  • Monitor doors, gates, credentials, visitor logs, and restricted areas to help control authorized access and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, housing areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help identify security-related concerns, document observations, and support site rules and procedures.
