About The Position

As a Security Officer Badge Desk in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional, welcoming experience for employees and visitors. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through strong communication and attention to detail. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, manage visitor logs, and report unusual activity or access concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and documenting security-related events in a clear and timely way.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, and controlled access areas, noting conditions that could help to deter unauthorized entry and/or support site operations.
  • Assist with screening deliveries, directing approved vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and communicating access requirements to help maintain orderly movement throughout the location.
