About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Arrival Screening in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The role provides consistent hours at an assigned site, with a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust their schedule as needed. The position pays $20.14 per hour and is assigned a Saturday overnight shift from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The site is a technology, media, and telecommunications location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen visitors, contractors, packages, and deliveries; verify identification, credentials, and authorization before allowing entry.
• Operate screening equipment and follow procedures for prohibited items, suspicious packages, and access exceptions; report concerns to designated site contacts.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and critical situations, and document observations and actions according to site requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
