Security Officer Armed Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Winston Salem, North Carolina, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government location. You will conduct routine armed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service. The role requires clear communication, sound judgment, integrity, and collaboration with site personnel. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a pay rate of $30.00 per hour. Applicants must possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License, be at least 21 years old for armed roles, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Industry-specific security training is required.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, government facility policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency services as needed.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization according to site procedures, and report access-control concerns.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.
