About The Position

As a part-time Armed Security Officer at a retail location in Syracuse, New York, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide customer service to shoppers and staff, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming environment. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $27.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor for suspicious activity, theft-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations, and report observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, customer concerns, and critical situations, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
Accurately and promptly document patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities in accordance with site and Allied Universal requirements.
