About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Access Specialist in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at an industrial location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around production areas, warehouses, parking areas, and the perimeter to observe conditions and report unusual activity.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, communicate clearly with site contacts and/or first responders, and complete required reports with accuracy.
