Our Armed Patrol Officers in a government location conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, site contacts, and/or public agencies as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity by verifying credentials, observing visitor traffic, and following post orders related to restricted or sensitive areas.
  • Maintain assigned duty gear and firearm in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable regulations, while carrying out post responsibilities with professionalism and attention to detail.
