About The Position
As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements
- 20+ Years of Age
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, parking locations, access points, and perimeter areas, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
- Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and other sensitive locations to help to deter unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
- Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow, provide directions and information, and support orderly operations during routine activity and/or unusual events.
