About The Position

As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• 20+ Years of Age
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public agency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, parking locations, roadways, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and report suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report policy violations, hazards, and/or unusual conditions in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow, provide directions and general assistance, and support orderly operations during routine activity, elevated travel periods, and/or emergency situations.
