About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Patrol Specialist in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a residential location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related concerns, and support access control activities. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential community, including common areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe resident and visitor traffic, helping to support property rules, visitor procedures, and authorized access practices.
  • Communicate with residents, guests, and/or local responders as needed while maintaining awareness of conditions at the location and following post orders.
