About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer for a government transportation location in Portsmouth, Virginia. The officer will help safeguard clients by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, monitoring assigned areas, and providing customer service and clear communication. The role involves patrols of port facilities, access points, parking areas, waterfront-adjacent areas, buildings, and perimeter locations, as well as monitoring restricted-area access and reporting unusual conditions. Officers respond professionally to incidents and alarms and document observations and actions according to site procedures. The schedule is Friday and Saturday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Pay is $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and vendors while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of port facilities, access points, parking areas, waterfront-adjacent areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access to restricted areas and verify credentials as directed.
Report unusual conditions, unauthorized entry attempts, and damaged property to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations.
Document observations and actions according to site procedures.
Maintain a professional presence at a government transportation location and communicate clearly with site personnel, visitors, and responding public-service agencies.
