About The Position

At Cosm, the Security Guard helps create a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The guest-facing role combines proactive safety practices with a connected, optimistic, and service-oriented approach to support a seamless and memorable experience. The position is part-time. The Security Guard protects people and venue assets, monitors access, patrols the premises, helps respond to emergencies, and enforces venue policies. The role also requires professional communication, sound judgment, teamwork, and the ability to perform essential duties while following company policies and procedures. Responsibilities may change or be added based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Valid security license or registration as required by applicable state and local laws, such as a Guard Card where required.
Ability to obtain and maintain required alcohol service certification in accordance with state and local regulations within the specified timeframe.
Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
Ability to perform duties professionally and make independent, sound judgment decisions within applicable policies and procedures.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
Strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
Ability to meet physical demands including constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50+ pounds, and occasional sitting.

Responsibilities

Bring the Pillars of Service—Connected, Optimistic, Service Oriented, and Memorable—to life in interactions with team members and guests.
Protect the safety and security of guests, team members, and venue assets while maintaining a service-oriented presence.
Check identification of guests who appear to be under 30 and are drinking alcoholic beverages in the venue.
Lead guests and team members through emergency evacuation procedures and provide assistance as needed.
Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to help prevent theft and maintain venue security and safety.
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences, as needed.
Patrol the premises to detect and prevent signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
Enforce Cosm's policy on photos, videos, and recording devices during shows.
Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent prohibited articles from entering restricted areas.
Warn people of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from the premises using a professional, service-oriented approach.
