About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Joliet, Illinois, to support a retail environment. The officer will help maintain a welcoming and secure setting by monitoring assigned areas, conducting patrols, providing customer service, and responding professionally to concerns and incidents. The role involves a daytime schedule: Monday and Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.21 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and team members by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor customer-facing and back-of-house areas for unusual activity, potential hazards, and policy concerns, and report observations through required channels.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and critical situations, contacting appropriate site personnel or emergency services when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned sales areas, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter.
Assist with access control, visitor awareness, and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence.
