About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer in Elwood, Illinois, you will help safeguard a logistics and distribution location by managing entry and exit points, verifying credentials, monitoring visitors, and supporting access procedures. You will maintain a visible presence and communicate professionally with employees, drivers, and visitors to help deter security-related incidents and provide exceptional service. The role includes carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies, maintaining accurate access records, responding to incidents and critical situations, and conducting patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter. The listed schedule is Monday 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. The pay rate is $19.85 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following site-specific access-control procedures and policies.
Carry out emergency-response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points and verify credentials.
Manage visitor and contractor entry and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to identify unusual activity and deter unauthorized access.
Communicate professionally with site personnel, delivery drivers, and Allied Universal leadership about security observations, incidents, and shift activity.
