About The Position

As a full-time, unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location in New York, NY, you will help safeguard clients, customers, employees, and visitors. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide customer service and clear communication. The role is part of Allied Universal’s retail and mall security services and its people-first, collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, using problem-solving skills.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail store, receiving areas, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity at the location; report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation according to site-specific procedures.
