About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for a part-time enhanced patrol and access coordination role at an assigned site in Franklin Park, Illinois. The position offers a fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Hours may vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. Pay is $21.34 per hour. The listed schedule is Sunday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

The Security Officer supports a safe environment for tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff by following site-specific security procedures and policies, responding to incidents, conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring access and visitor activity, and documenting relevant activity and incidents. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Applicable licensing requirements may apply.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or staff while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills when handling incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial real estate facilities, exterior areas, parking locations, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
