About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol security guard for a retail location in Paramus, New Jersey. The officer will safeguard clients and provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and visitors by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, responding professionally to concerns and incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment. The role includes scheduled shifts Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Pay is $19.50 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
Guard card or license.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and employees by following site-specific procedures and policies and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location; report suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities while maintaining a professional presence and supporting a positive visitor experience.
