Security Guard Part Time Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed tablet patrol Security Guard to serve and safeguard clients at Wake County library locations in Raleigh, North Carolina. The officer will support government facilities by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, helping deter incidents, and contributing to a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. The role requires customer service, clear communication, and use of computer or tablet technology as needed. Days and times are to be determined during on-the-job training. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Pay is $17 per hour, and parking is provided.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- State or local licensing requirements may apply and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at government facilities, following site-specific procedures and applicable emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency services as directed.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site policies.
- Document incidents and complete required security-related reports.
- Maintain a professional presence and support a welcoming, orderly environment for public-facing government operations.
