About The Position

As a part-time Security Guard at a utilities location in Spring Valley, New York, you will welcome visitors, manage access, monitor activity, and provide customer service. You will serve as a visible security presence, address security-related concerns, and communicate professionally with employees, guests, and site personnel. The position is scheduled for daytime shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.00–$17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.
Licensing requirements may need to be met before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide front-desk customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and utility customers while following site procedures and security protocols.
Monitor visitor access, verify identification and credentials as required, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate entry and departure records.
Receive and route telephone calls, deliveries, and inquiries professionally while remaining aware of front-desk activity.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following emergency procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
Maintain accurate activity logs and report unusual conditions, access concerns, and security incidents to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
