About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed security guard for site patrol at an automotive rental and service location in San Diego, California. The role provides a designated site and fixed weekly “anchor” shift, requiring a six-month commitment. The schedule offers a consistent base of hours, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform and build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The listed pay rate is $21.75 per hour.

The guard provides customer service and follows site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. Duties include responding calmly to incidents and access issues, documenting observations, patrolling the site, supporting access and traffic flow, and reporting security-related conditions. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. A security-related government-issued license is preferred. Employment is subject to background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at an automotive rental and service location, following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, vehicle-related concerns, access issues, and critical situations; document and report observations according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of parking areas, vehicle storage areas, entrances, exits, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and support traffic flow for customers, employees, vendors, and authorized vehicles in accordance with site requirements.
• Observe and report security-related conditions, property damage, lighting concerns, and unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
