About The Position

The Higgins Hotel is seeking a Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of its guests and staff. The role requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think quickly and remain calm in high-stress situations. The hotel is a historic, luxury property in New Orleans with 230 guest rooms and suites, food and beverage venues, and a conference center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification is required; obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Prior security or law enforcement experience; hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety and security patrols of the property and facility.
• Promptly report unusual observations to management.
• Protect guests and employees from harm and prevent theft or destruction of property.
• Write shift reports and security incident reports.
• Investigate and handle complaints, incidents, accidents, and emergencies.
• Ensure and maintain key control.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
