About The Position

The Higgins Hotel is seeking a Security Guard to help ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property. The role calls for a strong work ethic, excellent communication, sound judgment in high-stress situations, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. The hotel is a 230-room property in New Orleans with a restaurant, lounge, rooftop bar, and conference center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification is required; certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Prior security or law enforcement experience; hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• First aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety and security patrols of the property and facility.
• Report unusual observations to management in a timely manner.
• Protect guests and employees from harm and prevent theft or destruction of property.
• Write shift reports and security incident reports.
• Investigate and handle complaints, incidents, accidents, and emergencies.
• Ensure and maintain key control.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
