About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for patrol coverage at a government location in Springfield, Illinois. The officer will safeguard clients by maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, helping deter unauthorized activity, assisting visitors and staff, reporting observations, responding to incidents, and providing professional customer service and communication. The role is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM and pays $23.38 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site-specific procedures.
Prepare accurate daily activity reports and document incidents, observations, and unusual conditions according to company and site requirements.
