About The Position

As a Security Guard at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of security-related concerns while following site-specific procedures. This is a part-time, unarmed role scheduled Tuesday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, paying $18.32 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients while following site-specific procedures and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and document visitor, resident, and contractor activity according to location procedures.
Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, and promptly communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to identify and report security concerns, hazards, and policy violations.
Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications according to Allied Universal and location requirements.
