About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Guard for a logistics and distribution location in Rock Island, Illinois. The role involves managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and communicating professionally with drivers, visitors, and team members. The position is scheduled for daytime shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, at a rate of $18.75 per hour. The role supports an orderly, welcoming environment and follows site-specific security procedures and policies.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by following security procedures and site-specific policies and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control access by verifying identification, visitor authorization, and vehicle entry requirements.
Maintain accurate records of visitor, contractor, driver, and delivery activity according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
