About The Position

As a full-time Unarmed Security Guard at an educational location in Norwalk, Connecticut, you will help safeguard clients and support a welcoming campus environment. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, provide professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors, and respond to routine concerns with integrity. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate is $23.45 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, and communicate observations to appropriate campus personnel.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and other security-related issues according to site procedures.
Help maintain an orderly educational environment and provide clear directions and support to campus visitors.
