Security Guard Transitional Housing
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Guard in Jamaica, New York, to safeguard clients at a transitional housing facility. The role involves patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, program participants, and vendors. The Security Guard provides customer service, communicates clearly, follows site-specific procedures, and responds professionally to concerns and emergencies. The position is scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.87 per hour. Applicants must have a valid New York State Security Guard License and a high school diploma or equivalent. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, program participants, and vendors while following site-specific procedures and carrying out emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor entry requirements, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations; communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and emergency responders.
- Maintain a visible, professional presence that supports a welcoming environment and helps deter disruptive or unauthorized activity.
