About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Guard to provide professional, customer-focused security and life-safety services for people and property. The role supports a safe and secure environment by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring activity, controlling access, conducting patrols, responding according to established emergency procedures, and preparing reports. The position requires a security guard license or the ability to obtain one within an acceptable period, along with a driver's license as indicated in the job title. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at $15.00 per hour. Requirements

Meet state- or municipality-mandated security officer licensing requirements.
Have at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Have a valid driver's license, as specified in the job title.
Have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Have strong interpersonal communication skills.
Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Be able to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and identify suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and the customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized people to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
