About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Guard CCTV to provide professional, customer-focused security and life-safety services for people and property. The officer maintains a visible presence, monitors for suspicious or unsafe activity, controls authorized access, conducts patrols, monitors alarms and systems, and follows facility policies and emergency procedures. Duties may vary depending on the customer location assigned. The position pays $16.48 per hour and is scheduled Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The job title indicates that a driver's license is required.

Requirements

State- or municipality-mandated security officer licenses.
At least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Must have a driver's license, as indicated in the job title.
Reliable means of communication and transportation.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Neat and professional appearance.
Ability to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in contract security, law enforcement, the military, or customer service.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure property is removed only as authorized under customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
